Huhtamaki Cup Design winner announced
Melbourne-based graphic designer, Victoria Na, has been selected as the winner of the 2016 Huhtamaki Cup Design Competition.
Huhtamaki and MICE joined forces to give designers the chance to create the official MICE2016 cup, which will be used by cafés during Melbourne Coffee Week, and exhibitors at MICE.
“When I found out that I was the winner, I was screaming and jumping for joy. I just could not believe it. It felt so surreal,” Victoria says. “I contacted my close friends and family right away. I couldn’t contain my excitement.”
Victoria’s cup design was inspired by Melbourne’s unique café culture and latte art.
“I love my mochaccinos. I have always been intrigued by the perfection and finesse of latte art design,” Victoria says.
The design also represents the diversity of people who will attend MICE to celebrate their shared passion for coffee.
Huhtamaki is a global specialist in food and drink packaging and a Platinum Sponsor of MICE2016.
“We understand that packaging is about so much more than what goes into a product. It’s about building a brand. It’s for this reason that we wanted to support MICE2016 and encourage the development of designers through this unique competition. We’re really excited by the outcome and what Victoria’s design represents,” says Andre Chan, Huhtamaki Product Manager.
Another wonderful sponsor, Mentmore Design, will use Victoria’s artwork to create litter receptacles which will decorate The Showgrounds during MICE.
Mentmore Design’s Promobin’s are designed primarily for the café and hospitality industries, as a marketing and brand awareness tool. The advertising sleeve is easily removed and replaced onsite for promotions or corporate functions.
The Mentmore Design team can work with designers to create a product which compliments each business’ unique identity.
