Five Minute Espresso
Recently we sat down with Director of Espresso Company Australia Charles Stephens and discussed inspiration, achievements, travel and of course coffee!
MICE: What inspires you?
Charles Stephens: Genuine people who give time and attention without the expectation of receiving in return.
MICE: What is your greatest achievement?
Charles: From a professional perspective, the way ECA has developed as a business over 17 years, both the team I get to work with alongside the customers and manufacturers we partner with have made my career in the industry an incredible one. On a personal note, being the dad to three happy and healthy girls would have to be my greatest achievement.
MICE: What is something that people may not know about Espresso Company?
Charles: At Espresso Company we are humbled with the opportunity to provide long-term support to the RAAF squadrons and our friends in the Careflight Helicopter service. We assist these organisations with coordinating espresso machines to bases throughout Australia and internationally. We feel privileged to help provide a good cup of coffee for these teams as they keep alert during a shift and also as a morale boost while these groups do so much to protect us all and maintain our safety.
MICE: Favourite place you have travelled to?
Charles: I would have to say Italy, because I am an Italian trapped inside an Australians body.
MICE: Who would you choose to have a coffee with and why?
Charles: I’d love to have another coffee with Antonio Carluccio, the “Godfather of Italian gastronomy.” I was lucky enough to have this opportunity after one of his talks in Sydney, however sadly there will not be another chance in this lifetime.
Espresso Company Australia will be located at position 157 at MICE2018. Make sure you go past and check them out!
