WE ADORE COFFEE GALLERIA
In the lead up to MICE2019, MICE wants to get to know our roasters a little bit better. Nick Mastro of Coffee Galleria — roaster of Adore Estate Coffee — was kind enough to answer some of our questions:
Q: Can you tell us a bit about how your business first started out?
A: I started out in 1997 when I realised that most cafés could not make espresso coffee drinks properly. I thought I could make a difference to the coffee industry by teaching café staff the basics – in all honesty it was not easy to change the habits of not only the café staff but also Melbourne’s coffee drinkers.
Q: All-time favourite coffee experience?
A: Doing my Q Coffee Grader course in Hawaii three years ago. It was a great experience to interact with like-minded people from around the world – not to mention the surf was pretty good as well!
Q: How many cups of coffee a day before you draw the line?
A: Thankfully I haven’t gone that far yet!!!
Q: Single or double shot, white or black coffee?
A: Single shot espresso.
Q: If you could have a cup of coffee with one famous person past or present, who would you choose?
A: Elon Musk – I’m really interested in his vision of the colonisation of Mars.
You can catch Nick and the Coffee Galleria team at MICE2019, taking place 7 — 9 February at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
