MICE2019 wrap

MICE2019  THAT’S A WRAP!

MICE is done and dusted for another year– we can’t believe it’s over already!

On behalf of the whole MICE team, thank you to all the sponsors, exhibitors, attendees and competitors

for coming out and showing your support of the Australian coffee industry last week.

Read on to re-live the experience, or catch up on what you missed.

We hope you had an incredible time, and can’t wait to see you for MICE2020!

BRAND-NEW VENUE, RECORD ATTENDANCE

MICE2019 marked the first time that MICE inhabited the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The new venue provided a brand new look for the show, offered a much more central location, and gave exhibitors and attendees access to more modern and professional facilities.

A total of 11,978 people attended MICE over the three days of the show, which broke the attendance record set by MICE2018 last year!

INNOVATION IS KEY

We are proud to announce the winners of this year’s MICE Product Innovation Awards!

Congratulations to EnergyBar for winning first place in the Judges Choice Awards. The Rancilio Specialty RS1 placed second, and Business Insights by Ordermentum place third.

The Milkit Dual Milk Tap won the People’s Choice Award for 2019. Thank you to all winners and finalists who continually work towards pushing the boundaries for innovation in the coffee industry.

AUSTRALIAN COFFEE CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to the new ASCA Australian Coffee Champions!

Matthew Lewin of Ona Coffee won the Vitasoy Australian Barista Championship, after having competed in the finals for the past six years.

In her first national brewers cup competition, Yanina Ferreyra of Project Origin won the Australian Brewers Cup Championship.

Jibbi Little of jibbijug in New South Wales won the Australian Pauls Professional Latte Art Championship, this being her fifth attempt at the Australian Latte Art Championship title.

MJ Kim of Shamble Coffee Brewers in Melbourne won the 2019 Australian TCX Cup Tasters Championship.

All ASCA Australian Coffee Champions will now represent Australia on the world stage later in 2019. Good luck!

THANK YOU

As always, we’d like to say a HUGE thank you to our incredible event sponsors.

MICE would not be possible without the support of some very special companies. Please make sure you support those companies that support the Australian specialty coffee industry that we all love!

Looking forward, Melbourne has officially won the bid to host the 2020 World Barista and Brewers Cup Championships, which will take place at MICE2020 from 4-7 May 2020.

We are now accepting bookings for MICE2020 – please email event.organiser@primecreative.com.au to enquire about securing a space.
