MICE2023 is partnering with Co-Ground and OzHarvest to make the event more sustainable. Read on to find out more about each organisation, and how MICE is working with them this year.

A social enterprise, Co-Ground works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait young people on employment and training opportunities in the hospitality sector, as well as funding education and sanitation projects overseas.

This year, Co-Ground, in collaboration with Harry the Hirer and MICE, has launched a new sustainability initiative. The goal is to turn suitable exhibition materials into coffee carts for Co-Ground events. At the end of the show, reusable items from custom stands within the expo will be collected and turned into coffee carts.

OzHarvest is Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, collecting quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivering it directly to more than 1,300 charities supporting people in need across Australia.

OzHarvest collects all types of quality surplus food, as long as it’s within its use-by date and is food safe.

This year, OzHarvest is partnering with MICE to collect any remaining milk or food products from the expo, to save them being sent to landfill.
