EcoBarista Brings ‘Feel-Good Coffee Packaging’ to MICE 2026

26 March 2026, Melbourne, Australia

EcoBarista, Australia’s coffee-first sustainable packaging company, is bringing a fresh kind of energy to the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) starting from today, with a stand designed to generate conversation, connection, and a more honest, practical approach to sustainability.

Located at Stand B10, EcoBarista’s presence goes beyond packaging on a shelf, focusing on what matters most to roasters and cafés right now: performance, real-world sustainability, innovation, and the future of coffee.

Unlike traditional expo stands, EcoBarista is creating a space that feels more like the industry itself, collaborative, curious, and built on shared learning.

Brew Sessions: Where Packaging Meets Practice

At the heart of the stand are two Brew Sessions featuring leading Australian roasters:

Thursday 11:00am, Pablo & Rusty’s Coffee Roasters, joined by ReSmart
A practical conversation on mono PCR coffee bags and what actually happens after they’re used, exploring circular solutions and how roasters can bridge the gap between recyclable packaging and real-world outcomes. We’ll be joined on the stand by ReSmart, pioneers in the recycling space who offer great solutions to coffee roasters and cafes for disposing on hard-to-recycle items.

Thursday 2:30pm, Villino Coffee Roasters

A closer look at high-barrier home compostable packaging, and how material innovation is evolving to meet the needs of specialty coffee without compromising on quality.

“These sessions aren’t about what packaging says it can do,” says Zac Fryer, EcoBarista’s Managing Director. “They’re about what actually happens in practice, and how we, as an industry, can keep innovating to make packaging serve our coffee, and the planet, better.”

A More Practical Take on Sustainability

Across the stand, EcoBarista will be showcasing a range of solutions designed with both

sustainability and usability in mind.

From reusable options and larger format packaging like 5kg bags, to mono-material PCR coffee bags and partnerships with ReSmart to support circular outcomes, the focus is on solutions that work in the real world, not just in theory.

It’s an approach grounded in integrity, balancing environmental progress with the realities of running a coffee business.

Built for Coffee. Only Coffee.

EcoBarista exists for one industry: coffee.

That focus shapes everything, from product development to design. The team works closely with roasters and cafés to create packaging that performs under pressure, protects freshness, and shows up well on shelf.

It also means staying agile and responsive to what the industry actually needs, rather than applying one-size-fits-all solutions from other sectors.

“We understand coffee, and we understand how packaging fits into it, from the way it’s filled, to how it travels, to how it lands with customers,” Fryer says.

Free massages to relax and reset

By Day 2, seasoned MICE attendees know the legs are sore, the shoulders are tight and the coffee count is high. This is why EcoBarista is bringing something a little unexpected, with complimentary 5-minute massages from 12–3pm. EcoBarista customers will receive priority massages with walk-ins welcomed.

Join the conversation

Whether it’s recyclability, compostability, reuse, or customisation, EcoBarista invites roasters, café owners and industry professionals to stop by, ask questions, and be part of the conversation.

“What we love about this industry is that it cares, about quality, about people, and increasingly, about impact,” Fryer says. “MICE is a chance to bring those conversations together in one place.”
