COVID-19

 COVID-19 Information

As a result of the effects of COVID-19, we have made the decision to cancel MICE2020. It’s become clear that with Government and travel restrictions that the event would be unable to be safely or practically operated.

We want to ensure that we’re delivering the best possible event experience for all attendees, exhibitors and competitors. We also take the safety of all our attendees, exhibitors, competitors, judges, volunteers and staff very seriously.

MICE will next be held from 9 – 11 September 2021, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

We look forward to welcoming the world coffee community to Melbourne in 2021.

What should I do with my travel and hotel booking?

If you have booked your travel and accommodation through FBI Travel, please contact them directly.

If you made travel and accommodation arrangements personally, please contact the relevant airline/agent/hotel and explain the situation. They should be able to re-schedule your bookings.

My hotel/airline/travel agency did not accept my request to reschedule and is not willing to reimburse me. Will MICE reimburse me?

Unfortunately neither MICE, WCE or associated partners can be responsible for any financial engagements undertaken by third parties. The restrictions and instability brought about by COVID-19 and the state government have caused the need to reschedule the event in order to guarantee the wellbeing and safety of delegates, staff and suppliers.

Will the World Barista Championships and World Brewers Cup still be run during the revised MICE dates?

The 2021 World Barista Championship will be held in Athens, as the tender was awarded well ahead of COVID.
