Making the most of Melbourne: Richmond

Heading to Melbourne for MICE2020? While we know MICE will be the highlight of your trip (obviously!) we want to help you make the most of your time here.

Richmond is located east of the city centre, and has a huge array of restaurants, hotels, bars and cafés, as well as a bunch of must-visit attractions.

Check out a stack of our MICE exhibitors in their natural habitat…

Visit Touchwood or Top Paddock to grab a brew from Five Senses, or head into Mayday to taste a coffee from Axil Coffee Roasters. Both are MICE faves, serving up delicious cups throughout the show (find them at stands 113 and 263, respectively).

We also recommend visiting Veneziano Coffee Roasters’ flagship roastery café (find out more below!) where you can check out some more MICE exhibitors and supporters in action – grab a takeaway in a recyclable Detpak RecycleMe cup and feel good knowing that your coffee waste is being diverted to local projects via Reground.

Still need more to do?

We’ve got you covered.

Richmond is home to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), an iconic stadium that hosted the Melbourne Summer Olympics back in 1956, and Commonwealth Games in 2006.

Today, the stadium is used for concerts, cricket matches and Melbourne’s beloved AFL. The 2020 season will be in full swing in May, so catch a game or check out the Australian Sports Museum and take a behind-the-scenes tour of this much-loved landmark.

Gleadell Street Market takes place each Saturday and is where you can find an army of local fruit and veg, flowers, freshly baked bread and a range of other gourmet delights.

If you need a break from the hustle and bustle, check out the peaceful heritage-listed Burnley Gardens.
