Mocopan Coffee are back and have some awesome plans for events on their stand when MICE2019 arrives later this week! Fancy yourself a skilled latte artist or fusbal player? Mocopan’s set up at MICE2019 might be just right for you… We recently caught up with Master Roaster Peter Stathos, who filled us in a bit more about Mocopan’s history and what to expect from them at MICE2019.
Q: How did Mocopan Coffee first start out?
A: Mocopan Coffee is one of Australia’s original urban roasters, and was founded in 1954 by Agostino Monici, Sergio Coperchini, & Vic Panettieri. The Mocopan name was an amalgamation of the surnames of the three men. Back then the business was involved in the production of coffee, smallgoods, and polenta, whilst also serving as an importing agent for La Faema coffee machines from Italy. Today Mocopan is one of the largest coffee roasters in Australia.
Q: What excites you about returning to MICE this year?
A: Having the whole coffee industry gather under one roof for a few days is always an exciting and interesting occasion! Mocopan also have a few great events taking place on the stand this year: we’ll be hosting daily coffee master classes to teach MICE attendees coffee skills – ranging from beginner to advanced latte art as well as grinder calibration classes. We’ll also have a fusbal table on-stand where attendees can get away from the crowds and play for a bit of fun.
Q: What is your favourite piece of coffee-making equipment?
A: My Giotto Rocket Espresso Machine at home!
Mocopan will be exhibiting at stand #139 at MICE2019, just next to our Cupping Room and our brand-new Espresso Bar. Online ticket sales for MICE2019 close this Wednesday, make sure to get your tickets so you can come down and get involved in the fun!
