Mark McKenzie commenced with Freedom Energy Holdings (incorporating Freedom Fuels Australia & Trinity Petroleum Services) in July 2025 – a wholly owned subsidiary of Japanese Energy Giant Idemitsu Kosan Co. Ltd. Prior to joining Freedom Fuels, Mark served for ten years as Chief Executive Officer of ACAPMA – the national employer body representing the downstream petroleum industry. In that role, he worked closely with fuel wholesalers, retailers, suppliers, and government stakeholders to navigate regulatory reform, workforce challenges, industry transition pressures, and evolving market dynamics. As CEO of ACAPMA, Mark was a prominent industry advocate and policy contributor, representing Australian fuel businesses at state and federal levels and contributing to national conversations on fuel security, industrial relations, regulatory compliance, and the future of fuel retailing in Australia. He successfully led the industry through a period of significant economic and regulatory change, including the COVID years. Mark is now working to leverage his industry knowledge and commercial acumen to support the strategic growth of this business as one of Australia’s leading independent fuel and convenience retailers. Mark holds formal qualifications in Engineering and Business Administration, combining technical capability with strong commercial acumen. He is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has served on numerous national boards and government committees over the past 20 years. While Mark and his wife recently moved to Brisbane, he remains an unapologetic and passionate supporter of both Hawthorn and the NSW Blues.
